HIQA launches public consultation of its Corporate Plan 2025–2027

Date of publication:

The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) has today launched a public consultation on its draft Corporate Plan 2025–2027 and encourages members of the public and stakeholders to share their views on the future direction of the organisation.

HIQA’s mission is to improve health and social care services for the people of Ireland. Our broad and diverse remit has grown substantially since our establishment in 2007 and will continue to do so over the coming years. The draft Corporate Plan 2025–2027 outlines HIQA’s core values and sets out the key objectives we wish to achieve by 2027.

Launching the public consultation, HIQA CEO Angela Fitzgerald said: “This Corporate Plan outlines a clear strategic direction for the next three years. Over this period, we will remain responsive to the needs of the public and will continue to work towards our vision of all health and social care providers consistently delivering excellent standards of care and the best possible outcomes for people using services.”

“For this corporate plan, we have shifted our approach from traditional goal setting to more tangible outcomes that we want to see achieved by 2027. The outcomes are the benchmarks by which we will measure our success. By focusing on the outcomes, we aim to enable the best possible health and social care outcomes for all, through evidence-informed decision-making, standard setting, and regulation.”

The draft Corporate Plan 2025–2027 is available here. To take part in the consultation, please complete the short online survey by Friday 6 December 2024.

Following the consultation, all submissions will be reviewed and will inform the final version of the corporate plan.

Ends.
